Is the class you want closed? \u2026GET WAITLISTED!<\/h2>\n

Taft College has official waitlists for all classes.\u00a0Login to your Cougar Tracks portal to\u00a0get waitlisted!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how to do it:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Log in to Cougar Tracks<\/li>\n
  2. Click \u201cRegistration\u201d under the Student tab.<\/li>\n
  3. Click \u201cAdd or Drop Classes\u201d<\/li>\n
  4. Select Term<\/li>\n
  5. At the bottom of the screen, click \u201cClass Search\u201d to search for your desired class<\/li>\n
  6. \u00a0Make sure the class you wish to add shows remaining open seats under the WL Rem column. If there is room on the waitlist, write down the CRN number for the course.<\/li>\n
  7. Scroll to the bottom and select \u201cRegister\u201d.<\/li>\n
  8. Then, on the next screen, enter the CRN number(s) you wrote down.

  9. Click \u201cSubmit Changes\u201d<\/li>\n
  10. You will then receive a \u201cRegistration Add Errors\u201d message:
    \n    \"Registration<\/a><\/li>\n
  11. In the \u201cAction\u201d drop-down menu, choose \u201cWaitlist\u201d, then \u201cSubmit Changes\u201d at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n
  12. If you leave the \u201cAction\u201d drop-down menu as \u201cNone\u201d, you will not be waitlisted in the class.<\/li>\n
  13. On \u201cStudent Detail Schedule\u201d, you will see the course you\u2019ve waitlisted and your \u201cPosition\u201d on the waitlist. Note that you will not see the units for the waitlisted class in your unit total until you are actually in the class.

    What happens next?<\/h3>\n

    If a seat becomes available in the class, you will be notified with registration
    \ninstructions via email. Be sure to check your junk\/SPAM mailbox!<\/strong> You will
    \nhave 72 hours from the time the e-mail was sent to register for the class. If you<\/em><\/strong>
    \ndo not register for the class within 72 hours, you will be removed from the waitlist.<\/em><\/strong>
    \nThe waitlist function ends on the day of the first class meeting!<\/p>\n

    Frequently Asked Questions<\/h3>\n

    Q:What if I don\u2019t register for the class within 72 hours, but I still want the<\/strong>
    \n class?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: If you do not register for the class within 72 hours, you will be removed
    \nfrom the waitlist and the next student on the waitlist will be offered the
    \nopen seat. It is your responsibility to re-add yourself to the waitlist if you did
    \nnot register for the class during the specified time. Don\u2019t forget to pay by<\/em>
    \nthe deadline to prevent being dropped from classes!<\/em><\/p>\n

    Q:What if I am on the waitlist for a class that is at the same time as another<\/strong>
    \n class I\u2019m registered for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: You are allowed to get on a waitlist for other classes offered at the same
    \ntime. If you desire to add the new class section, you must first drop the
    \nsection you are enrolled in to be eligible to register for the new section.<\/p>\n

    Q:Can I get waitlisted for more than one section of the same class?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: Yes. You can be on as many waitlists as you would like, even multiple
    \nsections of the same class (ex: Engl 1500-30 and Engl 1500-40). There is no
    \nlimit on the number of class sections you can be waitlisted for.<\/p>\n

    Q:What if I\u2019m enrolled in another section of the class, but I really want a<\/strong>
    \n different section that is closed?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: If you are already enrolled in a class, you are not allowed to get on a
    \nwaitlist for other sections of the same class.<\/p>\n

    Q:What if I don\u2019t meet the pre-requisite(s) for the class?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: If you do not meet the pre-requisite(s) for the class, you are not eligible
    \nto be added to the waitlist.<\/p>\n

    Q:What if I have attempted this class before?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: If you have attempted the class previously, and are unable to register for
    \nthe class, please contact the Counseling Center at 661-763-7748.<\/p>\n

    Q:How many students can get on a waitlist?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: The maximum number of students that can be on a waitlist for any class is
    \n30.<\/p>\n

    Q:Can I remove myself from the waitlist of a class I no longer want?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A. Yes. Under the Registration menu, click on \u201cAdd or Drop Classes.\u201d Follow
    \nthe steps and SUBMIT your changes.<\/p>\n

    Q:What if I am still on the waitlist when the class starts?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A. The waitlist function ends on the first day the class meets for that
    \nsemester!<\/p>\n

    Q:How do I update my email address with Taft College?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: You can update your email by completing a Student Information Change
    \nForm available in the Admissions Office, 661-763-7741, or online through
    \nyour Cougar Tracks portal.<\/p>\n

    Q:What if I don\u2019t have an email account?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: Everyone has an email account. If you specified on your admissions
    \napplication for Taft College that you did not have an email account, you were
    \nassigned an email account. Contact 661-763-7741 for further information.<\/p>\n

    Q:How long do I have to pay for my class(es)?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A: The payment deadlines are specified each semester and are available in the
