All Taft College confirmed graduate candidates from Fall 2023, Spring and Summer 2024 are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony. If you are planning to transfer, it is strongly recommended that you consult with your counselor. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions and Records Office at (661) 763-7741.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor or advisor to complete the Graduation Application together. To schedule a counseling appointment, please call (661) 763-7748.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>AA\/AS or AA-T\/AS-T Degrees and or Certificates:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Local Degrees:<\/strong> Associate in Arts (AA) &amp; Associate in Science (AS).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transfer Degrees: <\/strong>Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) &amp; Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chancellor&#8217;s Office approved C<\/strong><strong>ertificates:<\/strong> Certificate of Achievement (CA).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local approved Certificates:<\/strong> Certificate of\u00a0Completion (CC).<br \/>\n<em><strong>Please note: <\/strong>This type of certificate will not appear on your academic records.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please refer to page 2 of the Student Candidacy for Graduation for a complete list of major codes.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"blue\">Graduation Application Deadlines<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>For students applying for any award, you must submit your candidacy for\u00a0graduation to Taft College by the following application period:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fall<\/strong> <strong>Graduation<\/strong> \u2013 Accepting applications from August 21<sup>st<\/sup> through December 15<sup>th<\/sup>. <strong><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">*Fall applications submitted after October<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">30<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">th will not be ADT verified.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Spring<\/strong> <strong>Graduation<\/strong> \u2013 Accepting applications from January 16<sup>th<\/sup> through May 16<sup>th<\/sup>.<strong> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">*<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Spring<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">applications submitted after<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">March 15th<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">will not be ADT verified.<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Spring applications submitted after April <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">19th will not be included in the May 17, 2024 graduation program.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Summer<\/strong> <strong>Graduation<\/strong> \u2013 Accepting applications from January 16<sup>th<\/sup> through August 15<sup>th<\/sup>.<strong> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">*<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Summer applications submitted after April 19th will not be included in the May 17, 2024 graduation program.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Information to know if applying for an AA-T or AS-T<\/h4>\n<h5>SB 1440 &#8211; Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act<\/h5>\n<p>The Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act (STAR) enables the California Community Colleges and California State University to collaborate on the creation of Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degree programs for transfer. These AA-T and AS-T degrees allow students to complete an Associate&#8217;s degree and satisfy lower division general education and major requirements for transfer at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>When applying to CSU for fall admission, students must complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csumentor.edu\/AdmissionApp\/\">CSU admissions application<\/a> between October 1 and November 30 of the year prior to transfer. Students must indicate on the CSU admission application the particular AA-T or AS-T being awarded by the California Community College and the date the degree will be complete. <strong>Students must apply for the AA-T or AS-T at Taft College no later than the Spring semester prior to transferring.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When applying to CSU for spring admission, students must complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csumentor.edu\/AdmissionApp\/\">CSU admissions application<\/a> between August 1 and August 30 of the year prior to transfer.
