{"id":22618,"date":"2022-02-22T10:56:41","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T18:56:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pre-production.taftcollege.edu\/career-center\/?p=22618"},"modified":"2022-02-22T10:56:41","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T18:56:41","slug":"peer-mentor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.taftcollege.edu\/career-center\/blog\/2022\/02\/22\/peer-mentor\/","title":{"rendered":"Peer Mentor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Peer Mentors are responsible for:<\/p>\n<p>Working with Mentees<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a caseload of four to six mentees each semester<\/li>\n<li>Meeting in person with assigned mentees<\/li>\n<li>Helping mentees implement their Individualized Person Centered Plan<\/li>\n<li>Scheduling mentee appointments to monitor their progress and making proper notation in files<\/li>\n<li>Serving as a peer liaison and referring students to appropriate campus resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Outreach and Events<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating, planning, and executing academic and social events for mentees as needed, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing, planning, and facilitating events<\/li>\n<li>Recruiting speakers and panelists<\/li>\n<li>Creating flyers and advertising events<\/li>\n<li>Providing outreach services on and off campus<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating involvement in Campus Life, i.e. Clubs, ASO, attending athletic events.<\/li>\n<li>Serving as an official college representative and role model, and exhibiting the values and culture of the TIL Program<\/li>\n<li>Managing projects and meeting expected deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Peer Mentors may take on other duties and projects as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hours and Pay<\/p>\n<p>For the 2021-2022 academic year, Peer Mentors are paid minimum wage.
