<strong>Club<\/strong> <strong>Constitution<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>I:<\/strong> <strong>NAME<\/strong> <strong>&amp;<\/strong> <strong>PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SECTION<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> Name \u2013 The name of this club shall be \u201cFuture Healthcare Professionals Club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>SECTION<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> National Affiliation \u2013 This club currently does not have affiliations with any other organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SECTION<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> Purpose \u2013 The purpose of this club shall be:<\/p>\n<p>\u0095 Conduct community outreach for prospective Taft College students who aspire to become healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n<p>\u0095 Empower future healthcare professionals to become leaders in the health community.<\/p>\n<p>\u0095 Explore healthcare career opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u0095 Provide pre-health students with mentoring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>II:<\/strong> <strong>MEMBERSHIP<\/strong> <strong>&amp;<\/strong> <strong>DUES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> Eligible students must be enrolled in five (5) semester units and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> Association Dues \u2013 Dues shall be $0 per year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> Taft College Associated Student Organization fee of $30<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>Officers<\/strong> \u2013 The officers shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Media Representative.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Eligibility<\/strong> \u2013 see Article II, Section A.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> <strong>Election<\/strong> \u2013 The officers shall be elected by ballot at the last meeting of the spring semester, by a majority of the vote cast for that office.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>D:<\/strong> <strong>Term<\/strong> \u2013 The officers shall serve for one year and their term of office shall begin at the commencement of the fall semester.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>E:<\/strong> <strong>Vacancy<\/strong> \u2013 If a vacancy occurs in the office of President, the Vice President shall assume the office for the remainder of the term and vacancies in any other office shall be filled by a special election.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>IV:<\/strong> <strong>DUTIES<\/strong> <strong>OF<\/strong> <strong>OFFICERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>President<\/strong> \u2013 it shall be the duty of the President to: <strong>\u2022<\/strong> Preside at meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Vote only in case of a tie. <strong>\u2022<\/strong> Represent the club.<\/li>\n<li>Appoint committee chairpersons subject to the approval of the Executive Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Serveas an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee.<\/li>\n<li>Perform such other duties as ordinarily pertain to this office. <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Vice-President<\/strong> \u2013 It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to:<\/li>\n<li>Preside in the absence of the President.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as chairperson of the Program Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> <strong>Secretary<\/strong> \u2013 It shall be the duty of the Secretary to: <strong>\u2022<\/strong> Record the minutes of all meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a file of the club\u2019s records.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a current roster of membership.<\/li>\n<li>Issue notices of meetings and conduct the general correspondence of the club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>D:<\/strong> <strong>Treasurer<\/strong> \u2013 It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to:<\/li>\n<li>Receive all funds and process Request for Payment, Deposit Slip, and Officer Signature Forms.<\/li>\n<li>Keep an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures and make reports as directed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>D:<\/strong> <strong>Social<\/strong> <strong>Media<\/strong> <strong>R<\/strong><strong>e<\/strong><strong>presentative<\/strong> \u2013 It shall be the duty of the Marketing Representative to:<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain club presence on social media platforms. <strong>\u2022<\/strong> Promote club activities using social media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>V:<\/strong> <strong>MEETINGS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>Meetings<\/strong> \u2013 Regular meetings shall be held monthly during the regular school year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>S<\/strong><strong>pecial<\/strong> <strong>Meeting<\/strong> \u2013 Special meetings may be called by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> <strong>Quorum<\/strong> \u2013 A quorum shall consist of one-half (\u00bd) of the membership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>D:<\/strong> <strong>Parliamentary<\/strong> <strong>A<\/strong><strong>uthority<\/strong> \u2013 Robert\u2019s Rules of Orders shall govern this club in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>V<\/strong><strong>I<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> <strong>EXECUTIVE<\/strong> <strong>COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>R<\/strong><strong>e<\/strong><strong>sponsibility<\/strong> \u2013 Management of this club shall be vested in an Executive Committee responsible to the entire membership to uphold these bylaws.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Membership<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> This committee shall consist of the officers as listed in Article III and the faculty advisor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> <strong>M<\/strong><strong>ee<\/strong><strong>t<\/strong><strong>i<\/strong><strong>ngs<\/strong> \u2013 This committee shall meet at least once between regular meetings of the club to organize and plan future activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>V<\/strong><strong>II<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> <strong>ADVISOR<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> <strong>Selection<\/strong> \u2013 there shall be a faculty\/staff advisor who shall be selected each year by the membership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Duties<\/strong> \u2013 The responsibilities of the faculty advisor shall be to:<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an awareness of the activities and programs sponsored by the student club<\/li>\n<li>Meet on a regular basis with the leader of the student club to discuss upcoming meetings, long-range plans, goals, and problems of the club.<\/li>\n<li>Attend regular meetings, executive board meetings asoften as schedule allows.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the orientation of new officers.<\/li>\n<li>Explain and clarify campus policy and procedures that apply to the club.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain contact with the Student Life Office.<\/li>\n<li>Provide direction in the area of parliamentary procedure, meeting facilitation, group-building, goal setting, and program planning.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the club treasurer in monitoring expenditures, fundraising activities, and corporate sponsorship to maintain an accurate and up-to-date account ledger.<\/li>\n<li>Inform club members of those factors that constitute unacceptable behavior onthe part of the clubmembers, andthe possible consequence of said behaviors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>V<\/strong><strong>I<\/strong><strong>II:<\/strong> <strong>COMMITTEES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>P<\/strong><strong>r<\/strong><strong>ogram<\/strong> <strong>Co<\/strong><strong>mmittee<\/strong> \u2013 A program committee composed of the Vice-President as chairperson and four other members shall be appointed by the President before the end of the spring semester, whose duty shall be to plan the overall program of the club.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Other<\/strong> <strong>c<\/strong><strong>ommittees<\/strong> \u2013 Social media representation and membership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> <strong>Special<\/strong> <strong>Committees<\/strong> \u2013 The President shall have the authority to appoint any special committees, with the approval of the Executive Committee, from time to time as need demands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>IX:<\/strong> <strong>AMENDMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>S<\/strong><strong>elec<\/strong><strong>tion<\/strong> \u2013 These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds (\u2154) majority vote of the chapter membership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> <strong>Notice<\/strong> \u2013 All members shall receive advance notice of the proposed amendment at least five days before the meeting. [The time may be extended to the following meeting.]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>X:<\/strong> <strong>BUDGET<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>Plan<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> The Budget plan shall be established by the newly elective executive board during the last meeting of the spring semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>The graduating board shall provide direction to assist with the budget plan<\/li>\n<li>General plans shall include the following:<\/li>\n<li>Awards<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Executive Member Scholarships<\/li>\n<li>Member Scholarships<\/li>\n<li>Gift Card Giveaways<\/li>\n<li>Guest Speaker(s)<\/li>\n<li>Executive Dinner (Fall)<\/li>\n<li>Conference Trip (Spring)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>Club<\/strong> <strong>funds<\/strong> <strong>shall<\/strong> <strong>be<\/strong> <strong>s<\/strong><strong>pent<\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>benefit<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>s<\/strong><strong>t<\/strong><strong>udents<\/strong> <strong>who<\/strong> <strong>are<\/strong> <strong>enrolled<\/strong> <strong>in<\/strong> <strong>Taft<\/strong> <strong>College<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>who<\/strong> <strong>are<\/strong> <strong>active<\/strong> <strong>members<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>club.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In order for executive members to qualify for a grant, scholarship, or award, he\/she must:<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA<\/li>\n<li>ii. Attend all mandatory club meetings<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Show determination to growing and improving the club<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>In order for club members to qualify for a grant, scholarship, or award, he\/she must:<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA<\/li>\n<li>Attend all mandatory club meetings<\/li>\n<li>Show determination in completing their required healthcare coursework.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>C:<\/strong> <strong>Fundraising<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a. Funds shall be raised to benefit the entire club or student<\/li>\n<li>b. Fundraisers must be approved by the club advisor, student life coordinator, the deanof studentsuccess, andthe vice president of student service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>D:<\/strong> <strong>Donations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All conditions for donated funds shall be made in writing with approval of the club\u2019s governing board prior to acceptance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>E:<\/strong> <strong>Advisors<\/strong> <strong>shall<\/strong> <strong>manage<\/strong> <strong>t<\/strong><strong>he<\/strong> <strong>c<\/strong><strong>l<\/strong><strong>u<\/strong><strong>b<\/strong> <strong>budget<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>submit<\/strong> <strong>re<\/strong><strong>ve<\/strong><strong>nues<\/strong> <strong>t<\/strong><strong>o<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>business<\/strong> <strong>office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Deposit receipts and expense reports shall be submitted to the student life office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>F:<\/strong> <strong>C<\/strong><strong>arryover<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The amount of money the club has at the end of the year after all revenues are deposited and all bills have been paid.<\/li>\n<li>Twenty percent (20%) of the amount raised by the club shall remain in the club fund if there is carryover.<\/li>\n<li>Carryover does not include the annual club allotment for awards or scholarships out of the ASO general fund.<\/li>\n<li>Unused funds provided out of the ASO general account shall be returned to the ASO general fund at the end of the academic yea<\/li>\n<li>Clubs may carry over more than 20% of the fundraised under special circumstances established by the club board, advisor, student life coordinator, and the vice president of student service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>G:<\/strong> <strong>Scholarships\/Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Clubs shall establish criteria for scholarships and\/or awards in the club bylaws.<\/li>\n<li>All clubs shall follow the guidelines established in the ASO bylaws, article I and II.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>ARTICLE<\/strong> <strong>X<\/strong><strong>I<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> <strong>B<\/strong><strong>YLAWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>A:<\/strong> <strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Ex<\/strong><strong>ec<\/strong><strong>utive<\/strong> <strong>Board<\/strong> <strong>s<\/strong><strong>hall<\/strong> <strong>cre<\/strong><strong>ate<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>e<\/strong><strong>nforce<\/strong> <strong>bylaws<\/strong> <strong>i<\/strong><strong>n<\/strong> <strong>accordance<\/strong> <strong>with<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>goals<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>this<\/strong> <strong>constitution.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u0095 <strong>Section<\/strong> <strong>B:<\/strong> <strong>A<\/strong><strong>mendments<\/strong> <strong>to<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>bylaws<\/strong> <strong>may<\/strong> <strong>be<\/strong> <strong>made<\/strong> <strong>i<\/strong><strong>n<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>following<\/strong> <strong>manner:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a. Proposed amendments shall be written in full, with one copy for each member of the Resolution Committee.<\/li>\n<li>b. Resolution Committee shall consist of four (3) active club members and\/or executive board members and the ASO Advi<\/li>\n<li>c. The ResolutionCommittee shalldetermine the amendmentsthatbest suit the interest of the student body in compliance with California legislation and aligns with the overall mission of Taft College.<\/li>\n<li>d.
