{"id":22038,"date":"2016-12-18T22:39:17","date_gmt":"2016-12-18T22:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pre-production.taftcollege.edu\/dental-hygiene\/?page_id=22038"},"modified":"2022-12-07T10:36:49","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T18:36:49","slug":"patient-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/archive.taftcollege.edu\/dental-hygiene\/patient-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Patient Information<\/h1>\n<p>Patients seeking dental hygiene services or an appointment can contact the clinic at 661-763-7706.<\/p>\n<p>The Taft College Dental Hygiene program is a teaching and learning clinic.\u00a0 Students perform all dental hygiene services and are overseen by licensed dental hygienists and dentists.\u00a0 As a teaching clinic, appointments are longer and students appreciate the commitment of all patients.<\/p>\n<p>The following services are provided:<\/p>\n<p>Oral Cancer Screening<\/p>\n<p>Oral Exam<\/p>\n<p>X-rays<\/p>\n<p>Cleanings and Root Planing Procedures<\/p>\n<p>Pit and Fissure Sealants<\/p>\n<p>Oral Health Education<\/p>\n<p>Fluoride Treatment<\/p>\n<p>Morning, afternoon, and evening appointments are available.\u00a0 All ages welcome!<\/p>\n<p>IMPORTANT:\u00a0 All children must be accompanied by an adult.\u00a0 Child care services are not available during clinic sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Only patients whose case is suitable for teaching purposes are eligible for care in the Clinic.\u00a0\u00a0 Patients ineligible for treatment in the Clinic will be referred to a dental facility.<\/p>\n<h4><u>CRITERIA FOR PATIENT ACCEPTANCE<\/u><\/h4>\n<p>The following items must be met before acceptance as a patient in the Clinic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Free from any medical or dental condition which would make treatment hazardous to patient or operator<\/li>\n<li>Oral conditions are considered acceptable for student learning<\/li>\n<li>Patient interest in learning preventive oral care<\/li>\n<li>Patient cooperation in keeping clinic appointments on time<\/li>\n<li>The Program Faculty reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment when \u00a0indicated.<\/li>\n<li>Controlled blood pressure and within Am. Heart Assn. guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Controlled blood glucose and within Am.
