The costumes that received the loudest ovations were kept in the running until, after several rounds of voting and elimination, just four groups of contestants were left: a pair of minions from the animated film <em>Despicable Me<\/em> (one malevolent and purple, the other goofy and yellow), two ornately dressed gypsies, a pair of breasts, and a group that included a baby Cinderella and her fairy godmother accompanied by a child dressed as a blue hot air-balloon.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3981\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/oldweb.taftcollege.edu\/tcwp\/cougaronline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/003-e1477949553798.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3981\" class=\"wp-image-3981 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/oldweb.taftcollege.edu\/tcwp\/cougaronline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/003-e1477949553798-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of a baby Cinderella, her fairy godmother, and a hot air balloon child.\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3981\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A baby Cinderella, her fairy godmother, and a hot air balloon child.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_3987\" style=\"width: 188px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/oldweb.taftcollege.edu\/tcwp\/cougaronline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/009-e1477949669634.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3987\" class=\"wp-image-3987 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/oldweb.taftcollege.edu\/tcwp\/cougaronline\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/009-e1477949669634-178x300.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of the two gypsies.\" width=\"178\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3987\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gypsies<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Since these costumes were all equally appreciated by the crowd, the ASB members decided to have the participants engage in a dance-off to \u201cThe Monster Mash.\u201d The options were narrowed down to Cinderella and company and the gypsies, and the crowd\u2019s final consensus determined the two gypsies to be the winners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Bailey Vega  The Taft College Associated Student Body hosted a costume contest in the quad on Halloween.
