Frequently Asked Questions

Should I submit an official or unofficial transcript?

A. Although an official transcript will be required at a later date, an unofficial transcript can be used as supporting documentation to clear the prerequisite for a course.

  1. Do I have to come in person, or can someone else clear my prerequisite?
    A.
It is okay for someone to drop off your paperwork. A counselor will contact you if there are any problems with the supporting documentation that was submitted.
  2. How long does it take to clear a prerequisite?
    A.
If all the required paperwork is completed, it may take up to 2 weeks. Also the closer the request is made to the start of the new semester, the longer the process takes. Please allow the 2 weeks before your registration time.
  3. My course has an advisory but not a prerequisite. Do I still need to submit a clearance request form?
    A.
Advisories are courses which are recommended for success but not required to try to enroll. Consequently, you do not need to submit a Prerequisite Clearance Request formor transcript if a course only has an advisory.
