Early Childhood Mentor Program
Mission Statement
The mission of the California Early Childhood Mentor Program is a state-wide effort to improve the quality of child care. The program provides training and support for early childhood professionals so that they, in turn, will be able to continue providing high-quality services. Through the Mentor Program, community college early childhood departments develop a mentor selection process and mentoring networks for students, caregivers and directors. Bakersfield College mentors mentor BC practicum lab students, Employment Readiness Academy students, ROP students and Taft College practicum lab students.
About the Program
The California Department of Education (CDEE) contracts with City College of San Francisco to implement the California Early Childhood Mentor Program in seventy (70) community colleges throughout the state.
