John Louis Stotts’ Geology Collection
John Louis Scotts Geology Collection
On March 28th, the John Louis Scotts Geological collection was unveiled to the friends, faculty, and members of Scotts’ family for the first time at the Taft College S.T.E.M. Lab.
According to Robert, John’s brother, explains John went around the world teaching, learning, and collecting precious stones. His parents emphasized one value and foundation – – education.
The five crates were opened by faculty and family. The contents of each crate were meticulously packed and well protected. Each crate held precious stones. Taft College’s geology instructor went around examining and describing each piece.
John retired from work in 1999. He passed away in 2014. His brother Robert told the audience what he wanted everyone to remember John by as a “very great geologist.”
