Taft College Announces Four Finalists in Presidential Search
Campus Forum Scheduled
Four finalist candidates for the Taft College Superintendent/President position have been identified through the presidential search process and will be interviewed by the West Kern Community College District Board of Trustees on May 26, 2016. They are Dr. Jeremy Brown, former President of Portland Community College in Oregon, as well as Dowling College in New York and Edinboro University in Pennsylvania; Dr. Debra Daniels, former President of Joliet Junior College in Illinois and San Bernardino Valley College in California; Mr. Tim Karas, Vice President of Instruction at the College of Alameda in California; and Mr. Brock McMurray, Executive Vice President of Administrative Services (CFO) and Interim Superintendent/President of Taft College.
The Board of Trustees will host a Campus Forum event to provide members of the College staff and Taft community the opportunity to meet and speak with all four candidates on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Each candidate will be assigned to a separate classroom in the Technical Arts Building (T-12, T-13, T-14 & the Art Gallery) to be available to answer questions and engage in casual conversation with members of the College staff and the Community. Survey forms will be provided so that the Board can collect comments regarding each candidate.
